Mercantec organised an online
Green World Café
On 27 November 2024, Mercantec organised an online Green World Café as part of the GREEN project activities.
The event gathered three participants in an interactive session focused on the future of green skills in education and the evolving
needs of the labour market.
The conference aimed to bring together professionals, students, educators, and policymakers to reflect on how green skills can be
better integrated into educational practices. The agenda included:
- Welcome and Introduction;
- Presentation of the GREEN VET Network by Susanne Joel, International Manager at Mercantec;
- A student’s perspective on the future green skills needed, shared by Victoria Wivelsted, ICT student at Mercantec;
- Open discussion on workforce challenges and the role of education providers in addressing them.
The contribution of the VET student offered participants valuable insights into how young people perceive the importance of sustainability
and the competencies required to thrive in future green economies.
